Visual inspired by Thao legends

Thao Legends

This exhibition takes three Thao legends as its narrative core, each echoing a different dimension of cultural guidance, transformation, and continuance.
The legend of the White Deer symbolizes ancestral guidance and a sacred covenant between the people and the natural world;
the story of the child transformed into an eagle carries themes of emotional rupture and shifting identity, reflecting how both personal and collective memory are shaped;
and the owl, as a spirit of protection and birth, continues to deliver the message of new life through the night.

These three myths are not only foundational narratives within Thao culture, but also the conceptual point of departure for the exhibition itself.
Through material choices, compositional structure, and the reworking of visual rhythm, we seek to let these ancient stories emerge again within a contemporary context.
